Bishop’s Stortford College hockey teams enjoy regional and county success

Bishop’s Stortford College’s under-13 girls’ A team have completed an impressive double by claiming regional and county titles.

The side secured top spot at the Independent Association of Prep Schools’ South Region competition in Eastbourne before being crowned Hertfordshire champions just three days later.

The youngsters from the Maze Green Road school picked up two wins and a draw in the group stage at the IAPS tournament before beating both Holmwood House and St Edmund’s College 4-0 in the quarter- and semi-finals respectively.

They took on Cranleigh School in the final and, just as in the group stage, the contest ended 2-2.

And Stortford triumphed on penalty strokes to earn their place in the national finals.

The team made it a memorable half term by beating Heath Mount School, Queenswood School, Dame Alice Owen’s School and Haileybury - all without conceding a goal - to secure the county prize.
