Bishop’s Stortford Swimming Club members win 19 medals at GoCardless Swim England Masters National Championships in Sheffield
Bishop’s Stortford Swimming Club took gold in two relays at the GoCardless Swim England Masters National Championships.
Callum Davis, Lucy Wheeler, Niamh James and Jake Lloyd triumphed in both the 4x100m mixed freestyle and 4x100 mixed medley relays in Sheffield.
It was the second consecutive year Stortford have won the freestyle relay and they will be bidding for a hat-trick next time around.
They were part of a 10-strong squad that bagged 19 medals in total - 12 gold, five silver and two bronze.
Alyson Fordham made the top of the podium in her age group in the 100m freestyle, 100m individual medley, 50m freestyle and 100m backstroke as well as finishing second in 50m breaststroke.
James claimed a golden treble thanks to success in the 200m backstroke, 200m IM and 200m breaststroke and added a bronze in the 100m IM.
Lizzie Bellinger was a gold medallist in both the 50m and 100m fly and took silver in both the 100m and 200m IM.
There was gold in the 200m freestyle and silver in the 100m freestyle for Wheeler.
And Lloyd secured silver in the 200m fly while Annabelle Wright earned bronze in the 400m freestyle.
Also competing for Stortford were Joe Collins, Meg Wickham and Zara Pretious-White.
