Will Roberts and Dan Elsom to return for Bishop's Stortford against National League 1 leaders Richmond
Bishop's Stortford will welcome back Will Roberts and Dan Elsom when they look to topple National League 1 leaders Richmond at Silver Leys this Saturday (3pm).
But they are set to be without Luis Ball and Brad Etherington for an extended period after they suffered injuries early on in last weekend's 32-29 defeat at Chinnor.
Ball needs to see a specialist after suffering a fracture above his eye socket while Etherington, who replaced him in Oxfordshire, requires an ankle operation.
Stortford will be looking to end a run of four straight defeats – three have been by a three-point or smaller margin – against the early pacesetters, who have won five out of five following their relegation from the Championship last term.
"We're showing enough good stuff on the field and picking up points, but we're also putting ourselves under pressure in games," said director of rugby Andy Long.
"We don't want to get used to losing as we saw last season that losing can be contagious. We all hate losing and now we need to put some things in place and get back to winning games of rugby.
"We know we'll need to be at our best against Richmond and there's also no pressure on us. But we know if we get things right we're good enough to win any game in this league."
Bishop's Stortford: Walker, Ayrton M, Winter (c), Keen, Smith, Ayrton J, Spivey; Brownhill, King, Harrison-Price, George, Lewis, Apperley, Elsom, Kingham. Replacements: Caulfield, Roberts, Jones, Stannard, Pope.
