Success for St Joseph's, Northgate and Little Hallingbury at KAS football festivals for primary schools in the Bishop's Stortford area
St Joseph's Primary School did the double when Kitteridge All Sports held its annual football festivals.
The youngsters from the Great Hadham Road school won both the Gold and Silver sections in the Year 5-6 event.
The Gold tournament was full of drama with some last-minute penalties and surprise victories.
St Joseph's beat Manor Fields 1-0 in the final as their striker got the only goal of the game after pouncing on a loose ball from a set piece. It meant more heartbreak for Manor Fields, who dominated the contest, after their defeat in the recent KAS League final.
Manor Fields captain Sam was named player of the festival for showing true leadership skills in adversity at the end of the final.
It was also 1-0 in the Silver final as St Joseph's came out on top in a tight match against Windhill21.
The teams in the Year 3-4 competition were split into three groups, with table-topping Manor Fields, Summercroft and Northgate progressing.
It was extremely close for first place as Northgate pipped Summercroft on goals scored having registered three to their rivals' two.
Freddie, of Manor Fields, was player of the festival for showing great sporting behaviour throughout and for his fantastic celebration after scoring the winner in his team's last match.
There were some excellent games in the girls' tournament as Little Hallingbury and Thorn Grove advanced to the final, with the former taking the title thanks to a terrific strike.
Diana made it a player-of-the-festival treble for Manor Fields as she showed plenty of skill and worked hard for her team.
