New Bishop’s Stortford Golf Club captains for 2025 announced

There was a show of unity and togetherness when four new captains officially began their terms at Bishop’s Stortford Golf Club.

Incoming club captain Neil Ballard was keen for the men’s, ladies’, Bishops and junior sections to thank the outgoing skippers and welcome the incoming ones all at the same event at the Dunmow Road club.

Joining Ballard at the helm of their respective sections are Amanda Young (ladies), Phil Evans (Bishops) and Euan Hardie (juniors).

They hit their ceremonial drives off the first tee - after their predecessors had putted out on the 18th green - having walked through a ceremonial arch formed by 30-plus past captains and been cheered by a crowd of more than 150 people.

A mixed format Texas scramble competition was also held before a meal was enjoyed in the newly-refurbished clubhouse.

And over £1,700 was raised for charity on the day.
