Year 4 team from St Michael’s primary school in Bishop’s Stortford wins Hertfordshire School Games Tri Golf County Finals
A team from St Michael’s C of E VA Primary School in Bishop’s Stortford were victorious at the Hertfordshire School Games Tri Golf County Finals.
The side, featuring 10 Year 4 pupils from the Apton Road school, showcased their putting and chipping skills over eight games.
And they amassed the most points overall to be crowned county champions.
Representing St Michael’s, who had won the Stortford tournament in the autumn to qualify for the finals, were Anna, Archie, Charlie, Evie, Hugo, James, Karina, Noah, Seb and Violet.
“The team were great ambassadors for the school as they showed teamwork, sportsmanship, accuracy, agility and friendship throughout the whole morning,” said a school spokesperson. “They should be so proud of their achievements.
“To be a county champion at such a young age is very special and this experience has inspired the team to explore further opportunities to play the sport of golf.”
