Bishop’s Stortford Swimming Club members compete at Aquatics GB Summer Championships
Dylan Davenport and Ella Greatbatch did themselves proud when they took on the country’s finest at the Aquatics GB Summer Championships.
The Bishop’s Stortford Swimming Club members were invited to compete against other top-ranked athletes, who included recent Stortford alumni Kirsty Neill and Callum Cox.
Davenport, in the 15-year age group, came 10th in the freestyle final in 25.55sec having achieved a personal best of 25.36 to secure his place in the British top 10.
He also came 15th in the 100m freestyle in 55.32, which was just outside his PB.
Greatbatch, who competed in the 16-year category, was 13th in the 200m breaststroke in a time very close to her season’s best.
Neill (17 years) secured a PB to come fifth in the 200m breaststroke final, with third to sixth being decided by just 0.22sec. She was also 10th in the 100m breaststroke and 20th in the 50m breaststroke.
Cox (18 years/over) was ranked 27th in the 50m butterfly.
