Bishop’s Stortford head coach Marcus Cattell targets back-to-back National League 1 wins ahead of Chinnor visit
Marcus Cattell wants Bishop’s Stortford to use their home win over Taunton Titans as a springboard towards the National League 1 top six.
The head coach saw his side end a three-game losing run with a 38-29 success against the Somerset side at Silver Leys.
They remain 11th in the table, but they are only six points adrift of sixth-placed Blackheath going into this Saturday’s home game with third-placed Chinnor.
And Cattell would love his team to register back-to-back victories for the first time this season against the side whose director of rugby is former England international Nick Easter.
“We were very pleased to get a result against a very good side who caused us problems,” said Cattell.
“I’m hoping it will bring the confidence back and we can kick on now and put back-to-back wins together for the first time this season.
“It’s a very tough and competitive league, but another couple of wins could put us back in a top-six position.
“Our consistency hasn’t quite been where we want it yet, but the boys are working hard and that’s all you can ask.
“Everything seems more positive after a win and hopefully we can keep on improving.”
Flanker Harrison Langworthy and fly-half Matt Riddington should be back in contention after injury while hooker Jack Hussey and inside centre Jack Biard could feature again after impressing on their first appearances.
