Bishop's Stortford will be looking to complete the double over Taunton Titans when they travel to Somerset in search of more vital National League 1 points on Saturday.

Tries from Will Roberts and Josh Stannard – the first being converted by George Cullen – earned them a valuable four points as they beat fellow strugglers Leeds Tykes 12-7 at Silver Leys at the weekend, with forward Declan Caulfield being named the division's player of the week for his performance.

The victory saw them climb three places to 10th, but there are still only five points between them and the second-from-bottom Tykes, who have two games in hand.

Stortford now face eighth-placed Taunton, who they beat 26-22 in September's reverse fixture. The Titans conceded 10 tries when losing 68-21 at leaders Rosslyn Park at the weekend, but had won their previous three fixtures.

"First and foremost a win was what we needed and that's what we got," said Stortford joint head coach Marcus Cattell.

"We felt we missed a couple of opportunities to put the game to bed earlier, but credit to Leeds as they hung on in the game.

"We know we've got to win a fair few more games and hopefully performances like the one on Saturday will bring those.

"For their first season in Nat 1, I'm sure Taunton are very happy with where they are. I don't look at their result against Rosslyn Park at all as they'll come out firing at home and will want to get one over us as we beat them at our place.

"They've got a decent pack and some exciting backs, so it should be a good game."

Stortford have made two personnel changes for the trip to Taunton. Mike Ayrton comes in at full-back with Dan Powell moving to fly-half and George Cullen dropping out. And Rory Banks replaces Jacob Wrafter at No 8.
