National 1 side Bishop’s Stortford sign Tristan Smith, Isaac Bell, Charlie Briers and Ollie Moffitt

Bishop’s Stortford have announced four close-season signings - with three of the new recruits coming from Loughborough Students.

Prop Tristan Smith, hooker Isaac Bell and scrum-half Charlie Briers have all been recruited from the Leicestershire club.

The trio helped their former side secure an eighth-place finish in National 2 West last season and the team also claimed the BUCS Super Rugby title thanks to a 35-31 victory over the University of Exeter in the final.

Smith will be familiar to Stortford fans as the forward spent time at Silver Leys in the 2022-23 campaign.

Stortford have also brought in hooker Ollie Moffitt from National 1 rivals Rams while Alex Rayment, who plays in the same position, has been re-signed.
