Outside-centre Charlotte Wheeler and prop Jess Trim-Cain then both powered through gaps in the home team’s defence to add a try apiece, with Coppen converting one of them.

And Coppen successfully converted scores by No 8 Larissa Cushway and flanker Kiera Chadburn to make it 33-0 at the break.

Stortford continued to dominate after the restart and winger Ali Borman dotted down after some quick phase play.

A high tackle by a Clacton player resulted in a penalty which was taken quickly by Donna McDonald, who ran through the tiring defence to score under the posts. Coppen was successful with the boot.

Coppen then scored and converted a try of her own after some quick work at the breakdown resulted in Stortford moving the ball down the line.

Jess Trim-Cain was named forward of the match while Georgia Butler was chosen as back of the match.
