Ashley Sutton claims race win at Thruxton in Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship

Ashley Sutton produced one of the best opening laps ever seen in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship on his way to victory in race two at Thruxton on Sunday (June 8).

The Bishop’s Stortford racer surged from fourth on the grid to take the lead before powering to his third victory of the season.

Championship leader Sutton, who is nine points clear at the top of the standings, said: “I would love to be able to talk you through that start in race two, but I don’t know how I did it myself. Mega to get that done and bring the car home.”
