Coby Miles named man of the match as Takeley beat Linton in Cambridgeshire Cricket Association Junior Cup final

Takeley got their hands on their second piece of silverware of the season as they beat Linton in the Cambridgeshire Cricket Association Junior Cup final.

The club have enjoyed the challenge of switching to the CCA system this summer and, having lifted the Boardmans Davies Cup last month, are also in with a shout of promotion.

Linton elected to bat first in the 40-over contest at Sawston and were soon in trouble as they were restricted to 34 runs in the opening 16 overs.

Things looked bleak for them on 70 for 7, but captain Conor Campbell (60 not out) and Guy Ennew (62 not out) put on 92 to get them up to 162 for 7.

Coby Miles, who was named man of the match, picked up 3 for 12 and there were two wickets apiece for Pat Roach and Tom Brown, with the bowlers backed up by some fine fielding.

Sean Lemon (41) and Chris Thake (34) built a solid second-wicket partnership and Tom Gillies then hit an unbeaten 66 to get Takeley to 166 for 3 with 11 overs to spare.
