Kieran returned from injury in spectacular fashion when Thorley Manor under-nine Orange produced a strong performance at home to Hitchin Comets.

He helped himself to a hat-trick and was joined on the score sheet by Alex, who got a brace, and Ollie while man-of-the-match Will played well in goal and in midfield.

Under-nine Black were involved in an exciting match against Baldock Town Knights.

Harrison, Joshua and Reggie scored goals, there were some defence-splitting passes from Joshua and Thomas, and some fine saves from Zafir.

Goalkeeper Nathan Tidman was under-11 Black's man of the match in an even match against Biggleswade.

Thomas Cunningham, Cameron and Will Shuttleworth netted when the under-12s met Melbourn Dynamos Tigers.

There was plenty of good passing and movement, while the boys won praise for being honest and telling the referee one of their goals had not actually crossed the line.

It was a game of two halves when under-12 Black took on Sawbridgeworth Town. They defended valiantly in the first half with the wind and slope against them, before producing attack after attack in a dominant second-half display.
