Thorley Manor under-nine Black produced their most convincing performance of the season when they took on Morden Magpies White.

Reduced numbers meant the boys had to play 6v6 rather than the usual 7v7, but they played with real spirit as the defenders and midfielder covered the extra ground superbly.

Farai provided some great assists leading to composed finishes from Joshua, Harrison and Reggie, as well as a mazy run and finish from Thomas, while, at the other end, defenders Luke, Freddie and goalkeeper Zafir kept a clean sheet.

Joe converted some chances and was player of the match in under-11 Black's competitive meeting with Plantation.

Other notable performances came from Henry and Noah, who ran the midfield, and goalkeeper Nathan.

Shot-stopper Marlon was player of the match for the under-10s against Hitchin Town Raiders, with his team scoring two great goals.

And under-eight Black were grateful for some sportsmanship from opponents Baldock Town Lancers, who let them borrow a couple of players for the opening quarters before some late arrivals turned up.
