A team from Thorley Hill Primary School took the honours when Bishop’s Stortford rugby club hosted a schools tag festival for girls.

They got the better of a side from Northgate Primary School by one try to be declared the winners at Silver Leys.

Seven teams featuring more than 45 girls took part in the tournament and everyone received a goodie bag for their efforts while a Little Hadham Primary School player earned the sportsmanship award.

Saracens player Emma Hardy was also in attendance to offer her support to the girls before also holding a Q&A session.

Meanwhile, Nikky Wilkins has been running ‘try it’ training sessions for girls and there are two more sessions to be held. See www.bsrfc.co.uk for details.
