Cup victory for Thorley Manor under-10s against Bassingbourn
Thorley Manor under-10s beat Bassingbourn to advance in the Inter Divisional Cup.
They were ahead at half time and could have scored more goals, but the second period was closer and their opponents pulled a goal back.
As Bassingbourn searched for an equaliser, Thorley Manor took advantage of the space being left and pulled away with some quick goals. Olly was man of the match.
Under-10 Blacks gave a good account of themselves in their cup tie against Lea Sports, from two divisions above, with goalkeeper and man of the match Callum performing superbly.
The under-12s showed great spirit when they took on Saffron Walden in a goal-filled game.
Stanley Rose, Aaron Stevens and Jack Sambridge were all on target and Kieran Parkes, who was playing up a year, excelled in goal to keep the score down.
Noah was amongst the goals after finishing off a nice pass from Finley when under-nine Black beat derby rivals BSCFC Rovers.
In a game of two halves, Thorley Manor dominated possession after the break and showed real determination to succeed.
The under-sevens were in fine form when they played Stotfold, keeping a clean sheet in both fixtures.
And the goals were spread out between Alex, Louis, Toby, Henry, Harrison, Joshua and Teddy.
