Thorley Manor Football Club youngsters enjoy Easter camp at Herts and Essex Sports Centre in Bishop's Stortford

Thorley Manor's youngsters prepared for their first matches after lockdown this coming weekend with an action-packed Easter football camp.

Almost 200 children attended sessions over a week at the Herts and Essex Sports Centre in Beldams Lane, Bishop's Stortford.

One of the many fun activities on offer for the kids was using a speed shot camera, which not only measured how fast they strike the ball but also provided coaches with the chance to help them to improve their technique.

Everything was enjoyed in a Covid-secure environment as founder Greg Sambridge and his fellow coaches followed all of the necessary FA and Government guidelines.

These included regular temperature checks, hand sanitising and cleaning of equipment.

An Easter raffle was also held – the star prize being a chocolate hamper donated by Cat Lamont – and over £200 was raised to go towards buying new equipment.
