Thorley Manor under-12s produced their best performance of the season to get the better of Buntingford Cougars Stripes.

Thomas C claimed a brace and was joined on the score sheet by Cameron, Thomas H and Oliver.

The team's passing, especially in the first half, was excellent as all of the players showed great awareness and created space for each other.

The under-14s also put in a fine display, although it was not enough for them to get the result they deserved against Stevenage Borough Blue.

They had spells of domination and pushed hard for a winning goal, but they left themselves short at the back and conceded at the death to lose a game they could have won.

The under-13s were able to celebrate a 3-2 success when they met Codicote despite both of their managers being unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances.

Some of the players' parents stepped up to support the team, with Duncan Parkes in particular helping to guide them to victory.

Under-12 Black did themselves proud against in-form Letchworth Garden City Eagles from the division above.

The team began each half a little slowly before clicking into gear and taking the game by the scruff of the neck.

Kayaan and Finn earned special praise from the coaches for playing a half each in goal as did Rich for running the line.

Brilliant decision-making ensured the goals flowed for under-11 Black when they took on Stotfold Juniors Gold.

Player-of-the-match Noah Sambridge bagged a hat-trick as he excelled in midfield while lots of the team's goals were scored in empty nets as players carved out tap-ins.

And the under-eight Black players worked hard to shake off the post-Christmas rustiness in a difficult game with Biggleswade.
