Bishop's Stortford looking to continue good home form against Birmingham Moseley in National League 1
Bishop's Stortford have made three changes to their starting line-up as they aim to extend their home winning run to five games and inflict more misery on Birmingham Moseley this Saturday (3pm).
Stortford are unbeaten at Silver Leys since a one-point defeat to National League 1 high fliers Richmond on October 12 and have won four in a row after getting the better of Rams, Rotherham, Canterbury and Sale.
Birmingham won September's reverse fixture 34-32 as they tasted success in four of their first five fixtures, but they have won only twice since and are currently on a seven-game losing streak.
"Historically the second halves of seasons have been strong for us. We need to focus on Birmingham at home and be ready to pick up some points," said Stortford director of rugby Andy Long.
"It's amazing how quickly things can turn around in this league. Birmingham were flying high and doing well at the start of the season, but picking up a few injuries or losing a few games can mean confidence can slip.
"Our home form has been good and targeting our home games is something we need to do in terms of making sure the squad is healthy and ready to go.
"A lot of clubs have got injuries at the moment so we need to make sure all of the players are ready to take their chance when it comes."
Stortford have named an unchanged backs line-up following their 23-16 loss at Cambridge two weeks ago. Australian winger Rob Duff returns to the squad on the bench.
Among the forwards, Dan Elsom, who was a replacement in the pre-Christmas M11 derby defeat, trades places with Luis Ball, while Harrison King and Tom Lewis come in for Theo Dan, who drops to the bench, and James Apperley respectively.
Joss Linney, Jon George and Dec Caulfield remain sidelined and Will Roberts is facing three months out after an operation on a pectoral muscle.
Stortford: Hankin, Stannard, Winter (c), Ayrton J, Ayrton M, Cullen, Banks; Brownhill, King, Harrison-Price, Thacker, Lewis, Wilson, Elsom, Kingham. Replacements: Dan, Castiglione, Ball, Duff, Mak.
