Rebecca Earl finishes 13th in Justin Rose Ladies’ Open at Hanbury Manor

The closing holes proved costly for Rebecca Earl as she missed out on a podium place at the Justin Rose Ladies’ Open.

The Bishop’s Stortford Golf Club member ended the tournament at Hanbury Manor with three bogeys to slip from third to 13th on the leaderboard.

The 54-hole event was part of the LET Access Tour, with Earl having played in many of the season’s previous 15 competitions across Europe.

She began with a three-under-par 69 to give her a share of seventh place, before a level-par round of 72 on the second day only saw her drop to ninth.

Earl started the third day strongly with birdies on the two opening holes, before narrowly missing other birdie chances to complete the front nine on two under.

She dropped a shot on the 10th before making amends with a birdie on the 14th. At this stage, with the wind gusting, she was five under for the tournament and in third place.

But she uncharacteristically bogeyed the closing three holes to end with a total of 214 in 13th place.

The winner was Emma Falcher, from France, with an 11-under-par score of 205, followed by Gemma Clews on 210 and Lianna Bailey on 211.
