Bishop's Stortford College Prep School pupil Tilly Dickinson-Gaunt into National Schools Equestrian Association Championships

Tilly Dickinson-Gaunt has jumped her way into the National Schools Equestrian Association Championships.

The Bishop's Stortford College Prep School pupil, who is hoping to be selected for the England pony team and dreams of competing at the Olympia Horse Show, progressed thanks to a good performance in the NSEA County Schools Qualifier.

Up against more than 40 other competitors from schools across Hertfordshire, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk, Tilly and her pony Alfie won the 70cm class.

They also came third in the 80cm category and Tilly rode her other pony Cariad Mam (Carrie) to an 80cm second place.

Tilly, who started riding three years ago, and Alfie are a new partnership having only been training together for 10 months.

Tilly, who competes for the Suffolk area team, has also qualified on both ponies for the 80cm and 90cm classes at the National Show Jumping Championships, which are scheduled for the summer.
