Bishop’s Stortford Handball Club under-16 girls ended the third round of the England Handball League South on a high with a 12-5 victory over Dorset.
Leah Pakala led the way with five goals while Eloise Daniell and Olivia Mugele netted four and three respectively.
It was the third match for the side in the event held at LeAF Studio in Bournemouth.
Their first game against Guildford Sabres ended in a 10-6 defeat with Mugele scoring four goals and Daniell adding a brace.
A 19-10 loss to West London Eagles, one of the strongest teams in the league, followed as Daniell claimed a hat-trick and Mugele, Pakala and Jessica Dimond all got doubles.
Meanwhile, Stortford’s under-13 girls and boys represented Hertfordshire when they played friendly matches against Middlesex and West London Eagles at Gunnersbury Park in preparation for a national tournament next month.
It was the first match experience for many of the players as they got the chance to perform without any pressure.
