Bishop’s Stortford Handball Club under-16 girls win two matches at pre-season friendly tournament in west London
Bishop’s Stortford Handball Club’s under-16 girls won their last two matches at a pre-season friendly tournament in west London.
They saw off Chelsea and West London Eagles II to finish the event at Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub on a high.
The squad comprised goalkeeper Chloe Reeve Pask, Alicia Mostari, Erin Kennard, Helena Sriskanthan-Reksa, Jess Dimond, Olivia Dimond, Kayleigh Schollhammer, Kitty Pointon and Sophie James.
Stortford’s first game was a tough one against the West London Eagles first team and some unforced errors led to them losing 11-4.
They tightened up in defence against Medway Falcons and an improved display helped them secure a 2-2 draw.
Combining organised attack with physical defence led to the team registering a 6-1 success over a young Chelsea outfit.
And, with tired legs, they produced their best performance of the day to overcome the Eagles’ second team 7-4.
Almost every player got on the score sheet while goalie Reeve Pask made some outstanding saves.
