Hockey history for Bishop's Stortford College

By Michael Vaughton

Bishop’s Stortford College have reached the Girls’ National Indoor Finals for the first time in their history thanks to the hard work and skill of their under-16s.

“We’ve never had a girls’ side reach the National Indoor Finals before and it is testament to the hard work and dedication of the players throughout their time at the college that they’ve made it,” said head of girls’ hockey Nick Prowse. “We’re really proud of their achievement.”

They won four of their opening five matches in the Indoor East Finals as they overcame New Hall 3-1, The Perse 4-2, Stamford 5-1 and Norwich 6-1. And losing by just a one-goal margin against Framlingham in their last contest was good enough to secure qualification.
