Bishop’s Stortford Swimming Club’s Noah Conroy and Guy Spearman-Baines bag seven medals between them at Team Luton’s Autumn Short Course Open Meet




Noah Conroy and Guy Spearman-Baines won seven medals between them as Bishop’s Stortford Swimming Club enjoyed a fine time at Team Luton’s Autumn Short Course Open Meet.

The 11-year-old swimmers were part of a 15-strong squad who returned home with a total of 24 medals - one gold, 13 silver and 10 bronze.

Conroy took silver in the 100m butterfly and 200m freestyle as well as bronze in the 50m fly and 100m free.

Spearman-Baines claimed silver in the 50m and 100m breaststroke and bronze in the 200m individual medley (IM).

The club’s one gold medallist was 16-year-old Emma Fields in the 50m butterfly.

Also stepping onto the podium were new club captains Freya Hadnutt and Jakey Hayes – who won five and six medals respectively – Imogen Tang, Alice Longman and Grace Mason.

BSSC MEDALS: 11-year-olds - Noah Conroy (silver 100m butterfly, 200m freestyle; bronze 50m fly, 100m free), Guy Spearman-Baines (silver 50m & 100m breaststroke; bronze 200m IM); 15-year-olds - Freya Hadnutt (silver 50m/100m/200m backstroke, 100m free; bronze 100m fly), Imogen Tang (silver 50m free); 16-year-olds - Emma Fields (gold 50m fly), Jakey Hayes (silver 100m/200m back, 400m free; bronze 50m back, 200m free, 200m IM), Alice Longman (silver 200m IM; bronze 50m/100m breast); 17-year-olds - Grace Mason (bronze 800m free).
