All aboard! Jump on the Halloween Express this autumn half term for a week of spooky fun activities for all the family

Get ready to climb aboard the Halloween Express for a spooky train ride into the forest as Audley End Miniature Railway prepares for the scariest time of year.

The attraction based at Audley End House near Saffron Walden is once again hosting a half-term week of fun activities for all the family from October 26 to November 3, with nothing too scary that will frighten little ones.

Visitors are encouraged to dress up to get into the spirit of all things ghoulish and take a train journey into the woods to meet a coven of witches and some familiar fun Halloween characters hiding out at the eerie little shop of horrors.

There will be plenty to see and do, including fun activities at the craft lodge, visiting Belinda the Witch to conjure up your own magic potion pouch, and exploring the enchanted fairy and elf walk. William the Magician will also host an interactive stage show that the whole family can enjoy.

The park’s adventure play area will be open along with the cafe serving devilishly delicious autumnal treats.

“The Audley End witches love to see everyone dressed in their spookiest outfits, so be sure to wear your best Hallows Eve attire!” said a spokesperson.

“Our Halloween spooktacular is spooky, but never too scary, making it perfect for even the littlest monsters. Plus, later train rides offer the extra thrill of seeing the site beautifully illuminated with lights.”

Booking is required via www.audley-end-railway.co.uk. Tickets are priced £19.50 (£20.50 on October 30 & 31) for adults and children over 92cm; £9.75 (£10.25 on the 30th & 31st October) for children under 92cm; Free for under 1s.

The ticket price includes a train ride, Belinda the Potion Witch, William the Magician, entry to the Adventure Play Area and a gift for every child. Trains run from 9.40am-5.40pm every 20 minutes.
