Crime authors Rachel Wolf and Heather Critchlow in conversation at Bishop’s Stortford Library on Thursday June 26

Two acclaimed crime authors will be taking part in an In Conversation evening at Bishop’s Stortford Library as part of National Crime Reading Month.

Rachel Wolf and Heather Critchlow will be discussing their novels and providing plenty of summer reading inspiration on Thursday June 26 (7pm).

Wolf is a travel executive-turned-thriller writer. She did the Curtis Brown Creative Writing Course before writing a successful crime series as Rachael Blok.

She went on to write her first glamorous destination thriller, Five Nights, last year and Sun Trap, which was published on May 8, is her second thriller with a stylish and luxurious background with a sinister and downbeat thread woven into it.

Critchlow grew up in rural Aberdeenshire and trained as a business journalist after studying history and social science at Cambridge University.

Published by Canelo in May 2023, her debut novel Unsolved was short-listed for the Bloody Scotland Debut Prize and was the first in a series about true crime podcaster Cal Lovett.

Tickets are on sale at £5 and refreshments will be available for a donation. Waterstones will be selling the authors’ books on the night if you wish to pick up a signed copy.

If you missed the library’s adult art event in February, do not delay in booking a place at Print and Prosecco on Thursday June 19 (7pm) for what promises to be an exciting evening of learning how to monoprint.

During the two-hour workshop you will learn how to make your own prints using gelli plates and recycled materials whilst enjoying a glass of prosecco. All materials provided. Suitable for all abilities and for ages 18+. Tickets are £15.
