London-Worldwide Comedy Short Film Festival: Honourable mention for Bishop's Stortford troupe Three Menopausal Maids
The Three Menopausal Maids were "gobsmacked" to get an honourable mention in the London-Worldwide Comedy Short Film Festival.
The Bishop's Stortford-based trio were one of only a few entrants to receive the accolade from the judges of the event which focuses on short films by aspiring comedy film makers from across the globe.
Sue Last, Carol Parradine and Lesley-Anne Webb did not expect to hear anything after entering a competition like this for the first time, so were thrilled to earn praise for their T42 short film.
The sketch was filmed by JJ Eringa, who is from Harlow and went to The Bishop's Stortford High School. He has extensive experience as a director and editor, with clients including the BBC and pop legends Madness.
"We entered T42 to see how we would get on, but as it was the first time we had entered something like this we didn't expect to hear anything more, so we were absolutely gobsmacked to receive an honourable mention," said Carol.
"This was a much-needed boost. Following the obvious setbacks incurred by events this year, our plans for the 3MMs had to be put on hold.
"Now that things have relaxed a little we've been able to complete the filming of our web series with JJ, who filmed the T42 sketch, which will be launched in the autumn and which we hope will prove to be just as successful.
"We'd also like to give a shout out to JJ. He's a tremendous talent who will go far."
