Boogie frights: Miss Disco to play Hallowe’en party at Great Hadham Country Club
Miss Disco, the nationally acclaimed purveyors of disco’s greatest hits, will be playing Great Hadham Country Club’s Hallowe’en Party this month.
The gig on Saturday October 28 will be their first in the Bishop’s Stortford area since their triumphant return last year to South Mill Arts, where the seven-piece – all long-time members of Uncle Funk & The Boogie Wonderband until 2020 – delivered a typically blistering set of ‘70s and ‘80s disco classics in front of a sell-out crowd.
Those attending the Hallowe’en party at Great Hadham are encouraged to attend in suitably ghoulish fancy dress.
Miss Disco’s much-loved lead vocalist Susan Pinky and her bandmates will perform a breathless set of non-stop hits by disco’s biggest icons, including Chic, Sister Sledge, Diana Ross, Chaka Khan, Gloria Gaynor, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Bee Gees, Odyssey, The Real Thing and The Jacksons.
Susan said: “We have a very long history of playing in and around Bishop’s Stortford, so we always love coming back to sing and dance the night away with everybody.
“The crowd here always makes such an effort with their Hallowe’en costumes, so we can’t wait to see everybody on the dance floor looking like death warmed up – or worse!”
Having performed together for many years, the disco champions’ performances at major festivals and events such as Glastonbury, Audley End, Standon Calling and the Cambridge Club Festival earned them a reputation as the best and most experienced disco revue in the UK.
The seven members between them are able to lay claim to recording, performing and touring credits with an incredible array of music stars, including Amy Winehouse, Take That, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, The Jacksons, Kylie Minogue, Human League, Soul II Soul, Westlife, Jamie Cullum, Beverley Knight, Dame Shirley Bassey, Dionne Warwick and Rose Royce.
