The Gruffalo and Paddington Bear to make special guest appearances at Audley End Miniature Railway for half term fun
Two children’s favourites are to make a special guest appearance at Audley End Miniature Railway this half term (May 24-June 1).
The Gruffalo, a character made famous by the children’s author Julia Donaldson, will venture into the deep dark woods alongside the railway on Saturday and Sunday (May 24-25) to delight young fans.
His visit will be followed by Paddington Bear’s arrival at the station on Saturday May 31 and Sunday June 1.
The character weekends include a meet-and-greet opportunity at several points throughout each day.
Throughout the half-term week the miniature railway will be welcoming families aboard its steam train for a fun-filled trip into the enchanted woods where magical scenes await.
Visitors can explore the fairy and elf walk and join in a variety of craft activities, creating their own crowns and wands using natural materials they find on their journey. The Woodland Café will also be open throughout.
The popular visitor attraction also has a weekend of events lined up for Father’s Day, where dads and grandfathers can ride for free on Saturday and Sunday June 14-15.
They can hop aboard the enchanting train for a journey into the magical forest where fun and adventure awaits. Tickets for all events can be booked via the miniature railway’s website.
