Sawbridgeworth May Fayre: Don't be fooled by event taking place in April

It may take place in April, but organisers are urging residents to put the date of this year's May Fayre in their diaries.

The event, run by Sawbridgeworth Memorial Hall Trust team, will be held on Sunday April 30 from midday to 4pm and promises to be a highlight of the town's year.

The focus of the fayre will be on Fair Green, where there will be live music run by Andy Knox Events. Visitors will be urged to take a seat on a hay bale and enjoy something from one of the many stalls in the food court area while taking in the sounds.

Also around the green will be charity game stalls reasonably priced for children to enjoy, craft stalls and local businesses selling their wares.

Jess Jeffrey, from the organising committee, told the Indie: "We will have craft displays in the church car park, tea and cake by the Guides in the church house and Great St Mary’s Church will be open to 'explore and be uplifted'.

"The donkeys will be back for children to enjoy a ride through the churchyard.

"In the Sawbridgeworth Memorial Hall we'll have soft play, a bouncy castle, licensed bar and outside around the car park there'll be a car show with a mixture of classic and super cars."

There will also be a fairground in the long-stay car park off Bell Street.

Jess thanked sponsors Your Perfect Travel, Mackay Property, The Gallery, The Waterfront Café and Choice Physio and volunteers "who put so much hard work into making the Sawbridgeworth May Fayre happen".
