Photographs of birds in Southern Country Park in Bishop’s Stortford including red kite, coal tit, bullfinch and sparrowhawk

Wildlife lover and keen photographer Richard Stead captured these images during a walk in Bishop’s Stortford’s Southern Country Park.

There were plenty of birds for him to snap in the morning sunshine on Wednesday (January 29), including red kite, coal tit, bullfinch and sparrowhawk, as well as a noisy squirrel with a missing paw.

Richard, who shared the images on the Stortford Nature Facebook page, also heard, but did not see, blackcap, Cetti’s warbler and song thrush.
