Bowling for a pig, vintage bus rides, bangers and burgers amid traditional games, entertainment and refreshments at Berden Street Fete on Saturday July 9

More news, no ads

Visitors can bowl for a pig, ride on a vintage bus and tuck into local bangers and burgers amid other traditional games, attractions and refreshments when the Berden Street Fete returns on Saturday July 9.

Following great feedback from the last event held in 2019, the fun day will return, bigger and better, to the Uttlesford village after a Covid pandemic-enforced absence.

Traditional fete games will include bowling for a pig, wet sponges and the greasy pole, while Squirty Wirty will be entertaining children in the beautiful grounds of St Nicholas Church.

Books, toys, vintage pre-loved, cakes, produce, plants, jewellery and accessories will be on sale on stalls, and there will be vintage bus rides alongside family favourites such as the grand draw, bottle stall and the fete's unique news tombola.

Refreshments will include candy floss, cream teas and a barbecue serving local sausages and the renowned Berden Burger, while fizz can be enjoyed at the Prosecco Bar.

And music will be provided by Bishop's Stortford Town Band, Afinado and the Andy Bowie Trio.
