Luna’s Great Adventure: First children’s book is a childhood dream come true for Great Hallingbury author Louise Littleton
An escaped rabbit inspired Great Hallingbury resident Louise Littleton to write her first book for children.
The mother of two, who was born in Chelmsford and brought up in Braintree, has lived in the village for 11 years.
“It’s been a dream of mine since I was a little girl to become a published author,” said Louise.
“After my young friend’s rabbit, Luna, escaped her cage one weekend earlier last year and was found unharmed after five whole days, I felt inspired by what may have happened to her in those days she was missing.
“Luna’s Great Adventure started as an idea and became a published paperback and e-book in January.”
Louise, 46, who lives with partner Jimmy and children Sam, 22, and Bella,10, hopes Luna’s story will have a sequel – or could even become a mini-series.
It was written to be read by children aged four to eight who love animals and adventure tales, and as a bedtime story with a meaningful message.
Louise, who works as a professional CV writer and career coach, said the key to writing a good children’s story was using rhyme and exciting pictures.
“I’ve been invited to three local nurseries to read the book to pre-schoolers,” she said.
“Luna’s Great Adventure follows a brave rabbit who escapes her cosy home and embarks on an unexpected journey.
“Exploring fields, gardens and meeting other animals, Luna faces challenges that test her courage.
“Through moments of fear and discovery, she learns the value of hope and the joy of finding her way home.”
Luna’s Great Adventure costs £4.99 and is available from Amazon.
