Family-friendly production of The Wizard of Oz coming to Saffron Hall for Christmas 2021
Be sure to grab the whole family and join Dorothy on a magical adventure when a production of The Wizard of Oz comes to Saffron Hall this Christmas.
KD Theatre Productions, in association with Saffron Building Society, is bringing the telling of the classic tale by Frank L. Baum to the 740-seat concert hall from December 22-29.
The spectacular show – the award-winning Saffron Walden venue's first festive offering – is packed with hilarious jokes, dazzling dance routines, lavish costumes and glittering scenery, providing fabulous fun for everyone.
The unmissable family-friendly production, which sees Dorothy try to find her way home with her friends the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Lion as the Wicked Witch of the West watches their every move, will feature a professional cast as well as a live band.
"We are delighted to be working with KD Theatre Productions on this magical show," said Saffron Hall Trust chief executive Angela Dixon.
"This is the first time Saffron Hall has presented a Christmas show and we are excited to welcome families from across the region to the Hall over the festive season."
Saffron Hall, in the grounds of Saffron Walden County High School, opened in 2013 and is a uniquely sustainable model of arts and community outreach.
KD Theatre Productions managing directors Katherine Hickmott and Daniel Bell said: "The venue lends itself to a magical festive treat and we will be bringing together performers and creatives at the top of their game to create a spectacular experience for all the family."
The Wizard of Oz is on from December 23-29 with a preview performance on December 22. Tickets start from £10 and are available from www.saffronhall.com or by calling 0845 548 7650.
