Simon Munnery coming to The Great Dunmow Comedy Club and Laura Lexx headlining at The Laughing Bishops Comedy Club
Simon Munnery and Laura Lexx are headlining comedy nights that are sure to have you splitting your sides this month.
Bishop's Stortford comedian Paddy Lennox is hosting at The Great Dunmow Comedy Club next Friday (November 12) when he, Rory O'Hanlon and Mickey Sharma will be on the bill with Munnery.
And Lennox is also hosting a Laughing Bishops Comedy Club show at Stortford's United Reformed Church Hall, Water Lane, on Saturday November 20 when headliner Lexx will be on stage after the host, Mary Bourke and four-piece The Noise Next Door.
Dunmow headliner Munnery began his comedy career in the mid 80s while studying at Cambridge University before performing lengthy sell-out runs in West End theatres and at international festivals in the 90s.
In 1996 he starred in ITV's flagship stand-up show Saturday Live, won a Sony Gold Radio Award for his BBC Radio 1 series Alan Parker's 29 Minutes Of Truth and was nominated for a British Comedy Award for his BBC Two show London Shouting, co-written with Graham Linehan.
In recent years he has made a raft of TV and radio appearances, including BBC Two's It's Kevin, Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle and The Culture Show, Comedy Central's Alternative Comedy Experience, Radio 4's The News Quiz, The Now Show and Genius and ITV2's Comedy Cuts.
The Foakes Hall in Great Dunmow is the venue for Friday night's show. There will be a bar, including cask ale from The Colchester Brewery, as well as Annabel's chilli nachos with guacamole, bangers and mash plus vegetarian options.

Laughing Bishops headliner Lexx took up comedy full time in 2015 having studied drama at Kent University and has been described as a stand-up tour de force by the Daily Telegraph.
The comedian, author and actor has performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and appeared on the BBC's Live at the Apollo, Comedy Central's Roast Battle and Dave's panel show Hypothetical.
Lexx has won a host of accolades including Best Performer in the Comedian's Choice Awards and was in the top 10 of Dave's Funniest Joke of the Fringe in 2018.
The Noise Next Door are the UK's premier improv comedy troupe and have been performing their own distinctive brand of off-the-cuff comedy together since they met at university.
The group - Matt Grant, Tom Livingstone, Sam Pacelli and Robin Hatcher - were nominated for a Chortle Award in 2014 and have performed alongside the likes of Michael McIntyre, Al Murray and Harry Hill as well as appearing on television and being 12-time sell-out veterans of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
