Mark Simmons, Tadiwa Mahlunge and Mike Gunn are on the bill at The Great Dunmow Comedy Club on Friday night (January 6).

The evening's entertainment, which will be hosted by resident MC Paddy Lennox, takes place at the Foakes Hall in Stortford Road from 8.30pm (doors open 7.30pm).

Simmons is known for his one-liners involving puns and wordplay. He is a regular performer at the Edinburgh Fringe and has appeared on TV shows such as Mock the Week.

Stand-up was the obvious second choice of career for Mahlunge after being told he would never get the grades for Oxbridge to follow his dream of being a professional physicist.

The Zimbabwe-born comedian, who grew up in Cardiff, has performed at historic venues such as The Clapham Grand, The Greenwich Maritime Museum, The Old Vic (Bristol) and The National Gallery.

Gunn has firmly established himself as one of the most sought-after comedians working the UK and international circuit. He is an original talent, distinguished by his trademark laconic and lugubrious dark humour, killer punchlines and masterful delivery.
