With fantastic new facilities including a large sports hall, 3G pitch, fitness studio, netball and basketball courts, dance studio, theatre room, extensive fields and even an outdoor woodland area perfect for adventurers big and small, Birchwood is the perfect place for children to have an unforgettable time.

The activities running at Birchwood are Mini Camp (for preschool children), Multi Activity (Reception-Year 1 & Years 2-4), Performing Arts and Crafts (Reception-Year 1), Theatre Workshop (Years 2-7), Xtreme (Years 4-8) and Football Camp (Reception-Year 7).

"Club Excel is a family-run business that has been running children's activity day camps in Hertfordshire for 22 years and our experience goes a long way to providing peace of mind to parents whilst introducing children to a range of activities that will not only challenge them but, more importantly, ensure they have the maximum amount of enjoyment whilst being cared for in a secure, happy and fun-filled environment," said director Guy Mitchell.

"We are Ofsted registered and have built our reputation by delivering high standards of childcare. The camps are operated by a team of experienced and qualified childcare professionals, many of whom are qualified teachers and sports coaches. All staff are DBS checked and receive regular training.

"Our goal is to provide an affordable but high-quality childcare option for parents and an activity option that suits the individuality of each child.

"Children have had a tough year and camps like ours are essential to allow them to return to a more carefree way of life in a safe, secure and fun environment.

"We have several exciting activities in store, from an inflatable obstacle course to go-karts, but my current favourite activity is our new laser tag game.

"We've been having a great time playing with it in the office (that's why we might be a little out of breath when we answer the phone!) and are really looking forward to bringing it to Bishop's Stortford."

All camps will operate in accordance with the Government's Covid guidance, and bookings are made under Club Excel's 'Covid-19 risk-free' guarantee. If it is unable to operate then customers will receive a full refund or credit and, likewise, if they are unable to attend due to a Covid-related reason then it will hold the full amount in credit for use at a later date.

Birchwood's community manager Kate Byers said: "We are delighted to be welcoming Club Excel to Birchwood and are looking forward to the exciting new opportunities they will be offering on site during the school holidays."

Guy added: "We want to introduce many local families to our new camp and are currently offering a special new venue reduction of 50% if you book before March 24 with the discount code 'BSI50'.

"We are also very grateful to the NHS for the amazing work they've done over the last year and, as a thank you, we would like to offer three free days at our Easter camp at Birchwood High School to all NHS workers. Please call the office to claim this offer.

"We look forward to meeting the families of Bishop's Stortford in the Easter or summer holidays – just please excuse all of our haircuts as the barbers/hairdressers don't open until after camp!"
