Open Gardens: Take a stroll around the tranquil six-acre grounds of Gaston House

An 18th-century Georgian house will open the gates to its six-acre estate to visitors on Sunday June 27.

Gaston House in Little Hallingbury is taking part in the British Red Cross Open Gardens event, raising money for the charity supporting people in crisis.

The tranquil grounds in a small parkland setting include large herbaceous beds set off by a rope catenary with rambling roses. Shallow steps lead past a pond and rill to a parterre and a larger pond with a fountain set among a row of pleached limes.

All funds raised will help the Red Cross to continue its vital work in the UK and overseas.
