HatFILM: Ryan Gosling, Kevin Costner and Hugh Grant star in Hatfield Forest
Hatfield Forest is offering film fans an open-air option this bank holiday weekend.
The National Trust-owned attraction is staging its HatFILM festival over three successive evenings, featuring outdoor screenings of popular movies.
First up on Friday (Aug 24) is La La Land, the multi-award-winning 2016 American musical romantic comedy drama, written and directed by Damien Chazelle.
It stars Ryan Gosling as a jazz pianist and Emma Stone as an aspiring actress who meet and fall in love in Los Angeles while pursuing their dreams.
Saturday’s screening is The Bodyguard, the 1992 American romantic thriller in which Kevin Costner plays a Secret Service agent-turned-bodyguard hired to protect music star Whitney Houston from an unknown stalker.
Then on Sunday it’s Mike Newell’s 1994 romantic comedy film, Four Weddings and a Funeral, written by Richard Curtis, which first propelled Hugh Grant to international stardom.
Over the course of four weddings and a funeral, serial monogamist Charles (Grant) must consider the notion that he may have fallen in love with an American woman named Carrie (Andie MacDowell).
Each screening starts at 8.30pm and costs £10 for adults and £8 for under-16s.
