Classic Ibiza concert to boost Herts charity for homeless
Classic Ibiza is returning to Hertfordshire with over five hours of Balearic-infused dance music this August, headlined by the 32-piece Urban Soul Orchestra (USO).
This summer the family-friendly concert at stately Hatfield House is teaming up with Herts Young Homeless (hyh), an independent charity that supports young people in the county without permanent, stable or suitable accommodation.
Besides rough sleepers, homelessness includes those who are 'sofa surfing' with friends and extended family or living in hostels and hyh provides a variety of free services for 16 to 24-year-olds.
The charity focuses on preventing homelessness by supporting positive informed choices with free services such as mediation, education, crisis services, a helpline and housing support.
Nicola MacKinnon, hyh's community fundraising officer, said: "We are thrilled to be partnering with Classic Ibiza at Hatfield House this year. It is such a high-profile event which will help us to spread awareness of our services as well as raise funds. We are looking forward to enjoying the party too."
There will be various fundraising initiatives taking place on the evening, including a £2.50 donation from every programme sold, a recommended £5 donation from press and guest-list entries, as well as collection points at all entry and exit gates.
Further funds will be raised at the hyh shop, selling a range of fun merchandise. An Enthuse page has also been established for those who want to donate in advance.
Classic Ibiza's Lisa Ward: "It's great to be teaming up with hyh to support the amazing work they do in Hertfordshire.
"Demand for our show at Hatfield has been strong again, so we hope to help them raise considerable funds."
Gates open at 5pm, with the show starting with a chill-out DJ set. Former Pacha Ibiza resident, DJ Jose Luis, then takes control of the decks for his Afro/Latin House set.
Next up, USO and DJ Goldierocks take centre stage for the Sundowner set, followed by Goldierocks' House DJ Set.
For the finale, USO returns to the stage for the Dance set, accompanied by a laser and light show.
This year's concert includes 15 completely new arrangements in an orchestral programme of over 30 house classics.
