Laughing Bishops Comedy Club returns with Mike Gunn, Charmian Hughes, Andre Vincent and host Paddy Lennox

After a summer break, stand-up returns to Bishop's Stortford with a top line-up of acts at the Laughing Bishops Comedy Club.

The three comics on the bill for this Saturday (Sept 17) are Andre Vincent, Charmian Hughes and Mike Gunn, with club founder and owner Paddy Lennox in charge of proceedings as compere.

André Vincent is described as one of those rare entertainers who does it all. Comedian, actor, writer, director, presenter, singer, circus boy... a born show-off. This lay-by on the information super-highway hopes to explain why he has spent his life facing the opposite direction to everyone else in the room.

Charmian Hughes found herself catapulted into the world of comedy after an unfortunate incident with a client needing a remedy for thrush when working for a marketing company. She is said to have learned the art of gurning and breaking wind simultaneously to French mime guru Philippe Gauliere’s cries of ‘Merde’.

For well over a decade, Mike Gunn has been firmly established as one of the most sought-after and accomplished comedians working on the UK and international circuits. He's an original talent, distinguished by his trademark laconic and lugubrious dark humour, killer punchlines and masterful delivery.

Doors open at the club's home at the United Reformed Church hall in Water Lane at 7.30pm and the comedy kicks off at 8.30pm.
