Uncle Funk’s Decades of Dance show to debut at South Mill Arts in Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday October 26




Go on a hedonistic journey through the evolution of dance music with Uncle Funk’s spectacular new theatre show.

Decades of Dance, which charts the genre’s history from the early electronic grooves of the 1970s through to the present day, makes its debut at South Mill Arts in Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday October 26.

The immersive production features floor-fillers from the likes of pioneers Donna Summer and Chic, the explosive sounds of the 1980s house scene with Black Box and Yazz and hits by 90s chart-toppers like Snap! and Ultra Naté.

And there will be noughties anthems from modern dance giants like David Guetta and Calvin Harris.

Uncle Funk’s nine-piece live band brings to life the biggest hits of each era, supported by dynamic choreography, dazzling costume changes and expert musicianship.

Adding to the experience, iconic Radio 1 DJ Mike Read lends his voice to provide narrative voiceovers, guiding the audience through the music’s transformative timeline.

The debut performance promises to be an unforgettable spectacle, featuring stunning visuals, infectious rhythms and the undeniable feel-good factor that only a night of live music can deliver.

With costume changes, fun choreography and the band’s infectious stage presence, Decades Of Dance is a celebration of rhythm, style and dancefloor memories.

“We wanted to create a show that celebrates the vibrancy, energy and timeless appeal of dance music,” said Uncle Funk's lead singer and show producer Simon Baker.

“This show is more than a tribute – it’s a live, full-throttle party that tracks the rise of dance music from its early roots to today’s biggest anthems. We’re excited to launch it at South Mill Arts.”
