Mum and son track down a tiger in Stortford town centre
After reading about Free Art Friday in the first edition of the Bishop's Stortford Independent, mum Charlotte Simmonds was thrilled to find artist Tracey Pinnington's tiger print hidden in the town.
The 42-year-old from Rhodes Avenue and son George Spence, who is three, had been enjoying a drink at Coffee Corner and spotted the article about Tracey’s big cat challenge for residents before they were the first to discover the wildlife portrait, secreted on the iconic red telephone box at the top of the steps to Devoils Lane.
Charlotte, a keen player at Bishop’s Stortford Hockey Club, now has to decide if the treasure will have pride of place on George’s bedroom wall or that of his seven-year-old sister Megan.
The Thorley Hill Primary pupil missed out on the fun but was the centre of attention when she won the competition to officially open Smiggle, the new stationery store in Jackson Square.
Charlotte said: “We’ve been very lucky!”
