Three singers who became firm friends when they joined Bishop’s Stortford Musical Theatre Company have formed their own group – and their first concert will be a fundraiser for the town’s winter night shelter.

La Dolce Vita – who describe themselves as a classical crossover and musical theatre triad – are comprised of Alex Outlaw, Charlotte Tarran and Darrell Williams.

Their show, New Year Concert, will take place at the night shelter's venue – Holy Trinity Church in South Street – on Sunday evening(Jan 13).

It will be the third time that Alex, Charlotte and Darrell have staged a concert in aid of the shelter but the first time in their new guise as La Dolce Vita. Their previous fundraiser, in November 2017, raised more than £600.

“We decided to launch officially as we have some exciting projects coming up this year,” Darrell said. “We get on with each other so well. It’s so much fun performing on stage with your best friends and hopefully that comes across in our performance.”

As for the cause, he added: “Holy Trinity put so much time and effort into running the shelter, with people volunteering round the clock. We can't put the same time in as these wonderful, giving and caring volunteers, but we can help by raising the much-needed funds to ensure the shelter is able to keep running.”

The concert will take place at Holy Trinity on Sunday (Jan 13) from 7pm. Tickets are £7.50 and available from the church or from Darrell on 07398 638335.
