Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds to perform at Audley End

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds (NGHFB) will be joined by The Zutons and former Kasabian singer Tom Meighan for a concert at Audley End house and gardens this summer.

Heritage Live promoter Giles Cooper said: "Noel is one of rock's true iconic geniuses and we're so pleased he'll be performing another Heritage Live show for us next summer. Their show with us at Kenwood last year was one of the highlights of the summer; the High Flying Birds are such a brilliant band and we really can't wait to stage this show for them in one of the UK's most amazing concert settings."

The multi-award-winning alternative rock outfit will head to Audley End on Saturday, August 5, following Björn Again, The Real Thing, Boney M and Miss Disco on Friday, August 4 and Sir Tom Jones and guests on Sunday, August 6.

For two decades, Gallagher was the key songwriter, lead guitarist and the occasional lead vocalist of Manchester Britpop heroes Oasis.

But after a series of well-publicised spats with brother Liam and Oasis's acrimonious split in 2009, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds emerged in 2011 with their eponymous debut album.

It achieved double platinum status in the UK in just six months and sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide.

By the time their second album Chasing Yesterday was released in 2015, NGHFB had already played 150 live shows in 32 different countries – and another 122 shows in 28 countries followed.

With two certified platinum albums under their belt, NGHFB continued to soar with 2017's Who Built The Moon, 2019 and 2020's multi-genre EP releases and then more recently the 2021 Best Of release Back The Way We Came: Vol 1.

The band has also racked up a Q Icon Award (2011), an NME Godlike Genius Award (2012), an Ivor Novello Award (2013) and even a GQ Icon Award (2013).

Fans of NGHFB at Audley End can expect to hear new material like the latest single Pretty Boy along with anthemic hits such as Chasing Yesterday, Who Built The Moon? and Black Star Dancing.

Acclaimed Liverpool indie rock band The Zutons will be special guests. The Zutons arrived on the music scene in 2001 and earned their indie rocker status with the release of three UK chart-climbing albums including Who Killed…… The Zutons and Tired of Hanging Around, featuring hits such as Valerie.

Tom Meighan is no stranger to the UK spotlight. The former vocalist of the alternative rock powerhouse Kasabian has battled alcohol addiction, mental health issues and a very public familial conflict,

His solo musical endeavours focus on rehabilitation and emotional honesty. His debut EP, with singles such as Would You Mind, Movin' On, Let It Ride and Shout It Out signal a new start for the singer.

On Friday, August 11, Soft Cell, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and Heaven 17 will also play at Audley End.
