Laughing Bishops Zoom: Bishop's Stortford comedian Paddy Lennox stages third online stand-up gig featuring Scott Bennett, Laura Lexx and Andy Askins
Bishop's Stortford stand-up Paddy Lennox is continuing his mission of bringing laughter to your lounge in his Laughing Bishops Zoom series.
The man who runs the Laughing Bishops Comedy Club at the Water Lane United Reformed Church hall in Stortford and its older, sister club in Great Dunmow is staging his third online gig this Saturday (April 3).
Once again, Paddy will introduce three more acclaimed comics in a live-streamed show that viewers can watch from the comfort of their own sofas.
This weekend's line-up consists of Scott Bennett, Laura Lexx, who has featured on TV's Live at the Apollo, and Andy Askins, who has twice appeared on The John Bishop Show.
Paddy's two Laughing Bishops Zoom gigs in March featured TV's Hal Cruttenden, Simon Brodkin, Ria Lina, Stephen Grant, Allyson June Smith and Troy Hawke.
Although temperatures are expected to reach 20C (68F) on Tuesday and Wednesday (March 30-31), they are forecast to drop to just 9C (48F) on Saturday.
Paddy said: "The garden will be freezing by 8pm on Saturday night, so why not schnuggle up on the sofa in front of your smart TV and watch some top-class comedy. Pour a glass of wine, order pizza and go commando... who cares!"
Tickets are £10, with an option to add £2 or £3 donations to support the comics, who have been badly hit by the Covid-19 crisis. Front-row seats are available for £12 which enable VIP audience members to be unmuted and let the performers feel the love and laughter. See the Laughing Bishops website for more information.
The gig starts at 8pm and finishes at 10pm. Audience members will be sent their Zoom links and passwords at around 7.20pm on Saturday, 40 minutes ahead of showtime. Paddy says: "Please do not share the Zoom link as we want to make this a bespoke live experience for you all."
If you do not receive your login details by 7.30pm, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Audience members are advised to log in to YouTube by 7.45pm to tweak any technical issues.
