Bishop's Stortford Art Society member Gabrielle Vickery shares her illustrations and watercolours

I'm a new member of Bishop's Stortford Art Society and delighted to be a part of this wonderful, creative society, writes Gabrielle Vickery.

As a student many years ago I thought that my degree in audio visual design would take me into the world of animation, but the industry was too difficult to get into. Instead, I navigated towards graphic design/websites/illustration and that's where I've been ever since.

Over the past couple of years I've been focusing more on illustration and more recently I've started using watercolours again. I also now run acrylic pouring workshops in my studio. Although these don't require any artistic talent as such, they can evoke quite a creative response in the pourer!

BSAS is a lovely way to meet other creative people. It has lots of events and demos you can go along to and there's always something new to learn.

I hope that more people come along and get involved with the society. For those that aren't sure about their own artistic talents, I would reassure them that you don't have to be an established artist to enjoy creating art yourself, you just have to try!
