Amici Cantate to stage A Summer Picnic Concert in church grounds

By Paul Winspear

Pop picnickers are invited to Bishop’s Stortford-based choir Amici Cantate's performance in the beautiful setting of St Mary’s Church in Standon.

From 6pm on Saturday July 13 the singers will present “A Summer Picnic Concert” in aid of the Charlotte Dove Performing Arts Trust.

The programme will feature music ranging from pop songs by The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel and Coldplay to Irving Berlin via a gorgeous gospel arrangement by Moses Hogan.

Audience members are invited to take a picnic for the interval. There will also be a raffle.

Choir members are looking forward to performing with some of the talented young people who have benefitted from the Charlotte Dove trust. They will be under the musical direction of James Davey and accompanied by Michael Smith.

Tickets priced £12 for adults and £6 for under-16s are available from 01279 506773, online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/amicicantate or on the door.
